This is one of our main fundraising events and we need all parents on deck to make sure it’s a success. I have a number of roles that need filling to ensure the smooth running of the event. I’ll be sending out a separate request for STO’s, if you’re down for the Timekeeping Course I’d prefer if you volunteered as a timekeeper. There will be another post regarding the course soon, ish probably tomorrow.

Just because you’ve not filled a role before didn’t mean you can’t do the role, full training will be given. I do love fresh parent victims sorry volunteers. If you stay all day you’ll get lunch and they’re will be the usual morning scones on offer on the officials room in the morning (I over cater so there’ll be leftovers in the afternoon)

I need a central collection parent from each squad to coordinate raffle and Tombola items with Alison Francois.

Front Desk – selling programmes, raffle tickets and getting people to fill out photography requests
2 x am/2 x pm

Tombola – coordinated by Alison Francois
2 x am/2 x pm

Medals Desk – sorting out the medals and handing them out to the correct swimmers
2 am/2 pm

Marshalls – making sure you’ve got the correct swimmer in the right heat and Lane.
3 am/3 pm

Runner – posting results, taking medal winner print outs to the medal table, handing out lunch tickets.
1 x am/ 1 x pm

Water/Sweets – handing out sweets and water to over heated officials. I’m happy for little ones to do this under supervision of a responsible adult. I’ll have ice and fruit for the water butt and spare hopefully in the cafe for afternoon or if we run out before. If you could fill the officials bottles when the event has started too please.

1-2 x am/ 1-2 x pm

I’d also like someone to help set up the pool with club signs so swimmers know where they’re sitting and to help blue tac on the raffle, Tombola and desk laminated bunting. You would need to be there early.

If anyone would like to see what the recorder does in the flesh before you decide to go forward with the training Neil would be happy to have someone with him in the cupboard.

Remember if I don’t get parents to help the meet can’t run, we make no funds and I post a lot of “Susan is sad” emojis.
